After being rescued from appalling conditions in a French circus and 10 months of veterinary treatment to get him strong enough to travel, Ares finally arrived at the sanctuary on 10-02-2010. Ares is an extremely small lion and weighs about 1/3 of what a lion his age should. Ares was suffering from a severe eye infection when confiscated from the circus and the condition has not yet resovled itself. Ares will still need extensive eye surgery to ensure that he does not loose his sight and we need your help to meet the costs associated with this complex procedure.
